I want to offer you a very warm welcome to this Module which is all about making structural rings with silver clay. This set of rings takes you beyond the traditional band ring and brings something a wee bit extra. There are 3 lovely projects for you to enjoy. They are:
The 3D Ring
Strictly speaking all rings are 3D but this ring has a lovely and voluminous profile which is both elegant and timeless.
The Large Gem Set Ring
Normally when we set large stones in pieces we need a chunk of silver clay to do that. Not with this ring - the stone is suspended by a small amount of silver clay which gives the stone the chance to be star of the show.
The Poison Ring
Or maybe a love potion ring depending on how romantic you are...? Whatever theme you decide to be inspired by, this ring balances a teeny tiny box with teeny tiny hinges and a beautiful hand made wire clasp. We are combining some traditional silver smithing to make this fantastic poison ring!
